The acclaimed US bathroom company, Waterworks, which can be found in 13 cities across the USA, has opened its first UK showroom in London’s Chelsea Design Quarter. The 3,700 square foot emporium on three levels displays both classic and contemporary ranges of bath and sanitary-ware as well as taps and fittings, tiles, lighting and accessories including bathmats and towels, bathrobes and room fragrances.
The large floor areas offer a wonderful sense of space. On the basement level, there are a dozen tiled vignettes that help customers visualise baths, showers and hardware whilst on ground level a ‘plumbing wall’ highlights the variety of styles and displays special order finishes. The top level shows a vast range of surfaces to complement all the fittings and fixtures.
Product highlights include the RW Atlas range of industrial-inspired shower systems and unlacquered brass taps from the Henry range that celebrate the revival of warmer finishes in the bathroom. There are also contemporary versions of encaustic tiles from the Promenade Collection in chalky modern hues such as Salt, Aqua and Coral. Freestanding and fitted baths are available in cast-iron, copper and mixed materials.
Co-founded in 1978 by Barbara and Robert Sallick and now led by son, Peter Sallick, CEO, Waterworks’ mission is to transform the bathroom into a luxurious and inviting retreat. Each product is created through a collaboration with designers, artisans and manufacturers; products are designed in-house and manufacturing outsourced to carefully chosen global suppliers from master cabinetmakers in the USA to workshops in France.
The Waterworks emporium is at 579-581 King’s Road, Chelsea, SW6 2EH. Tel: 0800 068 0248 www.waterworks.com
