In his new book The Natural Home, Swedish art director and stylist Hans Blomquist explores the essence of his painterly style. Natural materials and earthy colour palettes are at the heart of his atmospheric displays of treasured pieces, and the quirky but comfortable interiors he shows us provide a tranquil refuge from the noise and haste of modern life.

This bedroom is very simply decorated and furnished, so as not to detract from the huge pivoting window. Leaving the window unadorned ensures that the room is light and airy, and an element of privacy is provided by the plant containers on the terrace.
