You may not have noticed, but this is National Shed Week! We’re showing you our favourites from the dozens of entries for the Shed of the Year 2012 competition sponsored by Cuprinol.
The owner of ‘The Water Shed’, Geoff Hill, describes this as ‘a floating pavilion of all things sheddy’!
Really pretty at night, this New England-style shed belongs to Pauline Carlisle in Comber, Co. Down.
This ‘Boatcrash’ shed owned by Jo Candy is built on a frame of four wooden tripods, framed with oak and silver birch saplings, with green oak weatherboarding on the roof and straw bale walls. It’s still evolving apparently, and totally dry inside!
And this is just the perfect shed for any use. Built by ‘Shedi Master’ (!), it’s in Malmesbury in Wiltshire, and got planning permission in the garden of a grade 2 listed building in a conservation area. Apart from the featherboard clapping, it’s made entirely out of scrap materials.
