Oficina Inglesa was commissioned to craft a range of glamorous pieces of furniture for the new Manolo Blahnik shoe & accessories showroom which opened this summer in Selfridges on Oxford Street.
The interior was designed by Manolo Blahnik himself, in coordination with a team of architects. Manolo, who resides in Bath, took his inspiration for the showroom from the city’s Georgian and neoclassical architecture: ‘Our new store combines many elements of design that I love: a bit of Regency, a bit of Georgian, some colour and contrasting monochrome’.
All the pieces of furniture feature beautiful brass sabots, buttons and bars, and the striped skirting was achieved by using two veneers. The striking pink and blue fabric on the upholstery is made of horsehair.
The tops of the bespoke tables were crafted with a cross-cut veneer.
Oficina Inglesa has been making bespoke handmade furniture for over 30 years. Specialists in French reproductions and classic pieces, the company provides its clients with easy online access to its 600 plus furniture collection via its website and is represented in the UK through a showroom in London. Skillfully hand-crafted at Oficina Inglesa‘s workshop in Europe, the range includes handmade French dining tables and dining chairs, chests of drawers and armchairs, desks and secretaires, bookcases, sideboard buffets, occasional and coffee tables, bedside tables and more.
