London Design Week 2013 highlights – part 1

 

Spring’s biggest decorating event is on this week and we’ve put together some of our favourite products and launches.  London Design Week 2013 takes place in the 98 showrooms at  The Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour and at the premises of well-known names on the nearby King’s Road. See the latest collections (from over 500 brands !) and take part in forums, design lectures and masterclasses. 17-19 March are trade days, and the general public is welcome from 20-22 March.

Porta Romana‘s new Dumpling Lamps come in five jewel-box colours. Perfect for use as a bedside lamp, it looks delightful as a mis-matched pair. The shades have contrasting silk linings.

Tissus d’Helene‘s showroom specialises in artisanal fabrics and wallpapers from England, France, Belgium, Italy and America. In the foreground are samples from Martyn Lawrence Bullard Fabrics’ new Eastern promise collection.

This Moss tile, made from natural stabilized lichen, is maintenance-free, and comes in different colours. Suitable for indoor use (out of direct sunlight), from Via Arkadia.

Vaughan have launched a large collection of new swing arm wall lights in traditional and contemporary styles.

Top Floor Rugs‘ showroom.  The new rugs are hanging, and are, from left:  Entwine, a textured ribbon design; Ecosse, a seaweed design; Emprise, a baroque design. On the floor are colourful waterproof rugs.

Manuel Canovas is celebrating 50 years of exquisite designs. The new collection features tropical fruits and figurative floral prints with influences from the Far East, Northern India and the French Caribbean in bold designs and vibrant colours. The blind above is in Bella (in Rose Indien colourway), and Sultan (in Rose).

New British brand Scion (part of the Harlequin group) has launched a new range of eye-catching and affordable rugs.

Altfield represents Moore & Giles Leathers who are world-famous for their contemporary colours and commitment to the quality of their hides. There are literally thousands of shades and finishes!

The glamorous new Portrait collection from luxury interior design specialist, Evitavonni.

The name Ann Sacks has become synonymous with an innovative, artisan selection of inspiring tiles created in collaboration with leading designers and artists.they have just launched their ‘Modern Collection’ of stoneware tiles with crisp geometric designs and earthy glazes.

Hot off the press are these new designs from Lewis & Wood. They are Tribal (in Masai Blue) & Kimono (in Saffron Sea).
