To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jean Cocteau’s death, Roche Bobois have launched a wonderful collection of limited edition replicas of the artist’s ceramics, as well as Cocteau-inspired cushions, bed linen, throws, lampshades and rugs.
Roche Bobois and the Jean Cocteau Committee have re-issued the artist’s ceramics as limited edition pieces. They turned to an Italian master potter who was capable of faithfully reproducing the dishes and vases produced for Cocteau between 1957 and 1963 by the Madeline-Jolly Pottery in Ville Franche-sur-Mer. The pieces shown here are, from top: Theatre du Cap d’Ail, Orphee et Euridice, Le Vent, Le Gabier de Vigie.
Using print, embroidery and a mix of techniques, this new collection captures the spontaneity of Cocteau’s original drawings and manuscripts.
‘Multi visages’ and ‘Face a face’ cushions, also available in other colourways.
‘Three Faces and Flames’ cylindrical ottomans in velvet, sitting on a ‘Face and profile’ hand-woven rug.
The collection also includes embroidered satin cotton bed linen, and ‘Sleeper’ and ‘Asleep’ cushions.
