Two distinct series emerge from the Colefax and Fowler collection for 2016. The first tells of exuberant luxury through ornate patterns, magnificent colours, and rich fabrics of exceptional quality. There are decorative and luxurious plain velvets, paisley and ikat patterns and opulent silk embroideries. The second story articulates decorative designs in a soft palette after the Scandinavian tradition. The printed and embroidered leaves and woody pine cones, romantic embroideries, florals and trellis, combine perfectly with mixed weaves, plains, washed damasks and ethereal sheers. The wallpapers pick up keynote designs from the fabric collection, with pretty florals, leafy, graphic, and strié designs.
The grand bellflowers of ISADOR (pale aqua F4329/02) are densely embroidered in vibrant shades.
Some of the small patterns re-introduced this year from the Colefax and Fowler archive. These prints offer accessible co-ordinates with easygoing charm, such as the sprightly fronds of BLYTHE,
the oak leaf trellis of OAKEN, the organic forms of SEAFERN, and the artsy geometric design of MAZELY.
