Skinflint Designs have supplied a number of vintage British wall lights for the new Covent Garden branch of Canteen. Designed by the East London Design Studio ‘Very Good and Proper’, the restaurant mixes colourful contemporary furniture with vintage details.
These porcelain and glass globes supplied by Skinflint Designs were salvaged from a Victorian hospital in the Midlands.
The restaurant group designs and produces its own furniture, through British design studio Very Good & Proper. The ‘Canteen Utility Chair’ is hugely popular, and is found in each Canteen restaurant, its design and style now instantly recognisable.
Canteen serves seasonal ‘Great British Food’ – start your day with eggs, bacon bubble and squeak. Tuck into traditional fish and chips at lunchtime, or feast on Beetroot-cured salmon with pickled cucumber and horseradish cream followed by gooseberry fool before a West End show. This branch of Canteen is at 21 Wellington Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 7DN
