Jane Gordon-Clark is known internationally for the originality of her wallpapers. She founded the company Ornamenta in 1976 and immediately established a reputation for the originality of the designs. Among them are the stone effect ‘Ashlar Block’ ‘Clouds’ (which looks like a summer sky) ‘Woodgrain’ (with the appearance of colour washed planks) and many trompe l’oeil architectural borders. The collection includes design classics: the very wide hand-printed ‘Belshazzar Stripe’ and ‘Nabucco’ stripe. Some of the papers are handmade; some incorporate 22 carat gold leaf or white gold and many designs are created bespoke for individual projects.
