The fifth edition of Clerkwenwell Design Week ends this evening. This independent design festival (which won Best Festival and Best Cultural Event at the UK Event Awards) takes place at venues across London’s Clerkenwell. As well as the established hubs of Design Factory at the Farmiloe Building, Platform at the House of Detention, and Detail at the Order of St John, this year saw the new Additions exhibition in the Crypt on the Green at St James Church. Over 60 neighbouring showrooms also take part with activities and product launches.

A new addition to Tinsmiths‘ strong lighting collection is this glass ‘Pelargo’ pendant light, available in three sizes and different finishes.

Anglepoise launched a new interpretation of their classic Type75, with Paul Smith’s unmistakable touch.

Cotswold-based Lewis & Wood were showing their wide-width wallpapers and new fabrics from their English Ethnic collection, launched earlier this year.

Benchmark‘s ‘Shake Cabinet’, with doors made from cleft chestnut shakes. These are skillfully split as thinly as possible to keep the doors light and full of texture.  Their Lath Bench and Chairs, with stretched leather seats, are in the foreground.

Pinch Design celebrates simplicity of form. These are their Avery dining & armchairs and Joyce sideboard.
