The Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour celebrated the Queen’s  Jubilee yesterday with old-fashioned tea and cakes, bunting, balloons and striped tents.  The domes were decorated  in red, white and blue fabrics and two whimsical Jubilee pop-up  installations (created by illustrator and designer Natalie Ferstendik)  were commissioned to mark the occasion.

In a playful take on English heritage the corgis, the royal four-footed favourites, set the scene perched on tasseled cushions.

In another pop-up, guardsmen take a break from parade for a cup of tea. Fabrics from Tissus D’Hélène,  Harlequin, GP&J Baker, Sanderson, Lewis & Wood, Colefax & Fowler and many others were used…

The most enchanting red, white and blue fabrics, wall coverings, rugs, tassels and trimmings as well as furniture and lighting have been carefully chosen from the showrooms at Chelsea Harbour to complete the scheme.  There’s even a design trail devised to show visitors where to find Jubilee-style products on all four floors of the Design Centre.  There is a vast array to choose from – everything from Union flag colours and motifs to crowns and coronets.  Some showrooms even have Royal warrants.
