Next month, The House Directory is proud to present The House Directory LIVE, an exciting event that brings together leading brands, key industry figures and design experts to showcase a range of products and bespoke home services from specialist suppliers, craftspeople and professional restoration companies. Featuring daily demonstrations and workshops, the event, which takes place from 6-11 May at The Decorative Fair in Battersea Park, will offer attendees an interactive experience as well as practical insights into the world of craftsmanship and design.

Highlights include talks with renowned journalists Nicole Swengley and designer turned author Ivy Ngeow, who will discuss how their experience in design and decoration helps them fictionalise these elements in their novels. Writer, stylist and art director Alice Roberton and interior decorator and founder of Porter & Gold, Samaya Ling will talk through the ins and outs of preparing spaces to be photographed, while Sam and Louise Coster of Mongers Architectural Salvage will share the journey of their home-build using antique and reclaimed building materials with Sara Morel, CEO of Salvo.

Also on the roster are Amy Eld of Rock The Heirloom and Sarah Davenport of That Rebel House. Hosted by Anouska Lancaster of Noushka Design, the talk will give insights on how to help a business thrive through creative collaboration. Author Emilio Pimentel-Reid will welcome Michal Silver, creative director of Christopher Farr Cloth, and Holly Howe, Co-Creative Director of Howe London, both of whom feature in Emilio’s new book, All Things Considered. Finally, design journalist and founder/curator of GREEN GRADS Barbara Chandler will invite visitors to meet the GREEN GRADS, the dynamic new designers with ideas to heal the planet.

In addition, expect a host of demonstrations and integrative workshops by craftspeople, makers, brands and the GREEN GRADS, who will present their purpose-driven projects and products.

From 10^th 11^th May, The House Directory will also present a curated Makers Market. Head up to the Mezzanine for a showcase of work by artisans and suppliers of exquisite, handcrafted products.

Holly is a self-taught French Beading artist, who fell in love with the craft over ten years ago. Her previous career in the theatrical costume industry also inform her designs as she brings this lost art to a contemporary audience. Detailed research of each bloom forms the foundation of her designs, after which she strings thousands of glass seed beads onto fine craft wire. Green Grads is a UK-based initiative founded in 2021 by design journalist Barbara Chandler, created to spotlight emerging talent whose work responds to pressing environmental issues — from sustainability and climate change to biodiversity. Originally launched to address the disruption of graduate showcases during the pandemic, the programme now champions recent graduates through exhibitions, workshops, and industry connections. Founded by artist and curator and Angela Murray, Quote & Curate offers art consultancy, curation, delivery and installation services as well as management of private art collections or new acquisitions from the Quote & Curate studio. Having started his journey into blacksmithing in 2008, Ian Thackray has honed his skills and now specialises in traditional blacksmithing as well as modern engineering and fabrication. Based in London since 2005, Thibaut Degenne is a French furniture designer and cabinet maker who honed his woodworking skills under the tutelage of award-winning artist and furniture maker Marc Fish.
