These beautiful spoons are designed by Kirsten Hecktermann and hand-made in Kenya where she grew up. The wooden ones are carved from local managed hardwoods and the wood carvers work in Kirsten’s father’s workshop in Kilifi.
The bone spoons are made through marine projects and coastal community crafts on Kenya’s North coast. A percentage of the profits from the bone spoons goes towards the local Ocean Trust-Watamu turtle watch.
You can see and buy the spoons on Kirsten Hecktermann’s stand at the HAND SALE at the 20th Century Theatre, (291 Westbourne Grove, London W11) with a mix of stands offering cushions, throws and blankets, ceramics, glass, antiques, clothes, jewellery and more….
