Members' News
Lewis & Wood have some great workshops lined up for the autumn - from lampshade-making and book-binding to block-printing and making a smart leather-handled shopper out of one of their lovely fabrics. All workshops take place in their studio in leafy Gloucestershire and cost from £95 to £120 a day to include most materials, lunch, homemade cakes and tea and coffee. Scottish textile and ceramic company Anta is to open its first overseas shop in Milan. Anta's tartans will be on sale in the Excelsior, a new department store in Galleria del Corso. The firm was one of a handful of UK brands chosen by Excelsior to represent British style in the Italian fashion capital. www.anta.co.uk

New Books
Glass Houses by Catherine Slessor (Ryland Peters & Small, £30) explores striking glass homes all over the world. 20/21 British Art Fair (14-18 Sept), Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, SW7. Luxury Antiques Weekend (17-19 Sept), Stapleford Park Country House Hotel, Stapleford, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. The Lapada Art & Antiques Fair (21-25 Sept), Berkeley Square, London W1 This glamorous fair returns to its purpose-built marquee in Mayfair. Some 80 members of the UK's largest association of art & antique dealers will be selling contemporary and traditional fine art, furniture, sculpture, jewellery, silver, watches, clocks, glass and ceramics. The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair (27 Sept-2 Oct), The Marquee, Battersea Park, London SW11.
