Monochrome schemes are timeless. We’ve picked out some of our favourite black and white wall & floor tiles from Fired Earth‘s new Tile Collections – there are plain, patterned, glossy and even suede-textured designs.
The black and white forms painted onto the surface of these very hard wearing porcelain tiles create wonderful patterns that form the perfect backdrop to rooms that get a little wear and tear, such as entrance halls and bathrooms. The Casino Baccarat floor tiles and Dealer Border and Corner tiles cost £49.80 per square metre.
These porcelain wall tiles have a pleasing repeating geometric form redolent of back gammon boards and playing cards. In a shabby chic distressed finish they have the look of old wallpaper but the practical finish of hard wearing tiles. The Casino Pontoon wall tiles cost £59.91 per square metre.
Inspired by the decorated floors made popular in the Victorian era and prominent in ecclesiastical buildings, these ceramic tiles offer a low maintenance alternative to Encaustic floor tiles. Available in a variety of designs with complementary base tiles, borders and corners, they are suitable for kitchens, hallways and bathrooms. Abbey porcelain tiles in Woburn (£84.90 per square metre).
A sumptuous deco-style bathroom with Fired Earth‘s Atlantic basin and washstand, £1695 and the Bastide mixer with crystal levers, £995. The Domino Black Gloss Mosaics cost £99.90 per square metre and the Abbey porcelain floor tiles – which are shown in a design called Woburn (as in the image above) – cost £84.90 per square metre.
A simple glazed tile with an unusual suede-like texture, available in both 7.5×15 and 10×20 sizes. Suede tiles shown here in Black and in White (also available in Mink). The tiles cost £49.63 per square metre. The Black pencils (the thin border tiles) cost £2.50 each.
