Christopher and Nicola Cox are both sculptors and talented technicians. They first began working together in the mid 1990s, bonding over a shared love of the decorative arts. Having created sculptural furniture and lighting together for some years, in 2005 they founded Cox London. Today they personally oversee the production of every piece they design, running an in-house team of specialist artisans in their exciting London studio and workshops. Christopher and Nicola Cox continue to push the boundaries of materials: bronze; silver; wrought iron; blown glass and cast stone.
Lorfords ‘Created’ is a contemporary collection of luxury, traditionally made, English upholstery. The collection is handmade to order in Lorfords’ own Cotswolds-based Upholstery Studio, allowing them to ensure everything from the hardwood frame to the hand-crafted castors meets their exacting standards in terms of quality and traditional construction methods. By making everything in-house, Lorfords can offer a truly bespoke service. Clients are given the option of customising one of their models to their own specification (e.g. scaling it up or down, making the cushions softer or firmer, adding an extra detail), or designing their own completely bespoke piece (with help from the team of designers and upholsterers). All with rapid completion and delivery within 8 weeks of order.
