Luxury bathroom manufacturers Catchpole and Rye have a vast selection of products, ranging from freestanding copper baths and traditional cast iron roll top baths, to marble washstands, bespoke w/c cisterns and luxury showers. Bespoke by nature, Catchpole and Rye make all their cast-iron baths in their Kent foundry, using century old techniques.
They supplied many pieces for the bathrooms and ensuites of this private residence in Jersey, designed by Sian Parry Jones.
Taken from an original French Empire double-ended bath, Le Piaf defines the style of a classic roll-top bath on four intricate feet. Painted here in black, and available also in polished finishes. La Loire Bath Shower mixer on standpipes and dedicated floorplate adds a touch of grandeur. The taps are available in Silver Nickel, Brushed Nickel, Chrome Plate, Polished Brass, Aged Brass and Aged Copper.
The monochrome scheme of the bathrooms follows through into this black and white dressing room.
The vanity unit painted in black and white vertical stripes is Catchpole & Rye‘s La Parisienne Double twin basin washstand in Nero Marquino marble. Generously-sized, and with bevelled edging and serpentine curves, it’s perfect for the grandest of bathrooms.
The bedroom is painted in dramatic bold black and white horizontal stripes.
Le Thermo Grand Concealed (here in silver nickel) has an understated look providing a more contemporary appearance without compromising on classic fittings. The shower has been adapted to allow the pipe work to be concealed behind a stone or tiled wall. The range is available in Silver Nickel, Brushed Nickel, Chrome Plate, Polished Brass, Aged Brass and Aged Copper.
“The mirrored cloakroom with the bespoke Catchpole and Rye ‘Kinross Basin’ is my favourite” says interior designer Sian Parry Jones. The Kinross Basin on Frame is a beautifully crafted oval Arabascato marble basin standing on a silver nickel frame. The nickel mixer tap is their La Fontiane Noire design. Initially commissioned as a piece for Kinross House in Scotland, this marble washstand was based on an original Shanks of Barrhead basin that was found in the manor house’s basement.
Catchpole & Rye are able to tailor each product to a customer’s unique taste and needs. They can even cast your own initials or house name onto baths and cisterns for a truly bespoke service. Visit one of their showrooms in London, Tunbridge Wells, or Ashford in Kent to see their products.
