All of Besselink & Jones' shades are hand made using traditional techniques by their own dedicated shade makers. They use hand spun, hand dyed Honan silks from China. Different weights and colours are mixed together in pleats, lining and edging to create their effects. There are over 80 different types of trim including colourful assortments of braids, fan edges and fringes to embellish the shade. Other textures like plain card, hand painted card, oiled or crackled parchment add to the multitude of choices available.
