The fair champions British art from 1900 to the present day. Some 60 leading dealers show works by the great names of the 20th century: Bacon, Freud, Frink, Frost, Hepworth, Hockney, Hodgson, Lanyon, Lowry, Moore, Nash, Piper, Riley, Scott, Spencer and Sutherland to name a few. Alongside these will be a large selection of work by emerging and established contemporary artists, some of whom already have achieved international reputations - like Hirst, Emin and Grayson Perry - as well as work by emerging artists who may be the stars of tomorrow.

Launched to much acclaim in February 2007, the fair features modern and contemporary art from China, Japan, Russia, Australia, the Ukraine, Poland, France, Eire and, new this year, from Thailand and New Zealand, alongside a large selection of Modern British and contemporary work. 0ver 50 exhibitors, most of whom are UK based, will offer art by both 20th and 21st century artists : Matisse, Miro, Picasso and Chagall (all works on paper) plus British 20th century favourites such as Henry Moore, David Hockney, Bridget Riley and Damien Hirst as well as many artists who may be less well known but are well worth discovering.

Brighton Art Fair

Brighton Art Fair is now firmly established as a major annual event in the arts calendar of the South East. It is the largest art exhibition on the South Coast and brings together about 130 of the most talented national painters, printmakers, photographers and sculptors along with artist groups and Sussex based galleries. IACF (International Antiques & Collectors Fairs) organise two of the antiques world's best-known fixtures, the Ardingly and Newark fairs. The Ardingly fair boasts up to 1,700 stalls and is only one hour from London and Newark is Europe's largest antiques fair, with up to 3,000 stalls.
